Google+
Peoples are on Facebook now.
So, the new social, non-innovative enough platform shouldn't be built anymore?
The trap is how to attract people to join the BIG group.
Attractive content might be a key to open the huge and heavy stone gate.
So, Google has YouTube - the greatest streaming platform on the Internet.
Information integration might be a key to innovate a brand new stage to reform the Internet environment.
So, iGoogle, Google+, Gmail, Picasa, Google Maps are linked together even the integration is far from perfection.
There are still many difficult challenges remaining to be conquered.
Facebook are doing the progress on high information integration by building the link between the Internet and personal information in people's life. --- Timeline and location log service do something like that.
Facebook arose in Taiwan due to its game app.
Game app is part of Facebook's content that attracts people coming to use its friendly and convenient interface even those games are produced and maintained by the third party ---> Zynga, Playfish...etc.
But now, all of us know it doesn't matter why people are continuing using Facebook but not Google+.
Free and plenty of game apps let Facebook have good step at the beginning.
In other words, Free and good content has built a highly friendly environment let Facebook succeed nowadays.
Does Google have those good contents, too?
Yes. But they didn't get well integrated.
May be there are a lot of technical and legal issues cause Google unable to make it well and quickly.
But the truth is ---> Google might be late to participate and lead the wave in the market today.
Does good content worth people's consideration when we are talking about social media?
Yes, good content gathers people and makes people generate good content as well in the future.
Integration issue could determine that Google+ would succeed or fail.
OH, almost forget. one important issue needs to mention here.
One key factor is that how to move all the contents which generated by users on Facebook to Google+.
For instance, search engine links all the websites on the Internet together, may be the brand new generation search engine or platform could link all the social network services together, too.
Who owns those contents? Users never care. If they can enjoy the content with one key. It means the key or GOOGLE owns all the contents.
(Same as piracy issue on digital content. Users never care.)
There is an article composed by an ex-employee worked for Google. (He works for Microsoft now. )
He wrote why he left Google at that time. But he didn't mention why he joins MS after Google.
